Traveling Team
Open to all students K-8th grade. All who join are on the team. No one is left out.
This program is a more advanced program for wrestlers wanting more wrestling experience.
This program introduces wrestlers to competition. Winning is good, but the goal of this
program is to further enjoy and develop wrestling skills. We teach that success is directly
related to effort and stress that good work ethics and attention to detail are important
in all aspects of life.
- Dates
- The Traveling Team will begin January 5th, 2012 and run every Monday, Wednesday & Thursday through March 29th.
Note: Wednesday practices are not mandatory, but provide additional training for those that desire it.
No practice, due to no school, December 26, 29, January 2, 23, February 9 and March 5.
Freestyle & Greco Roman Practices will start Tuesday, March 20, 2012 for those not competing at Folkstyle Nationals, April 4 for all.
- Practice Times
- Practices will be held in the Riverside (old Goodrich)
wrestling room from 6-7:30 p.m.
Practices are held every Monday, Wednesday and Thursday.
NOTE: There is a free preseason clinic at Riverside starting December 5th on Mondays and Thursdays from 6:00 to 7:30 pm until the
Christmas break which will lead into the start of traveling team season.
- Tournaments
- A list of all weekend tournaments will be given out at one of the first practices in January.
- The Traveling Team Schedule will be posted/handed out at practice.
- Informational Meeting
- An informational parent meeting will be held
Thursday, January 5th, 2012 at Riverside
wrestling room. Time: 6pm. The parent's meeting will be in the wrestling room,
right before the first practice.
- Fees
- There is a fee for this program ($100),
which includes a USA Wrestling Card and use of a singlet ($25 deposit) for the season.
Additional information will be given at the parent meeting.
- Required Equipment
- All practice participants are required to purchase headgear to protect their ears.
Wrestling shoes are also encouraged.

This is an outstanding experience that has become fun for the wrestlers and the parents. Everyone is encouraged to at least
attend the informational meeting right before the first practice.
